We are a group of writers, who meet FOR writers, in the historic English city of York.
Our members range from aspiring novelists and many-times-published writers of short stories and poetry, to those just getting started as writers. We aim to provide encouragement, support and assistance for writers at all levels to improve their craft, to get published, and to get satisfaction and pleasure from what they write.
We are interested in all forms of writing: fiction and non-fiction, poetry and scripts, novels and short stories, for both adults and children.
York Writers meets on the first Wednesday of every month in the upstairs room of Brigantes Bar and Brasserie on Micklegate, York. You can find a map and directions here. Brigantes is just a few minutes' walk from York railway station and there is ample car parking just around the corner on Nunnery Lane.
Meetings start at 8 pm and usually finish around 10 pm.
Admission is £2.50 for guests.
