York Writers

We are a group of writers, who meet FOR writers, in the historic English city of York.

Our members range from aspiring novelists and many-times-published writers of short stories and poetry, to those just getting started as writers. We aim to provide encouragement, support and assistance for writers at all levels to improve their craft, to get published, and to get satisfaction and pleasure from what they write.

We are interested in all forms of writing: fiction and non-fiction, poetry and scripts, novels and short stories, for both adults and children.

Where to find us

York Writers meets at 8pm on the first Thursday of each month at Jacobs Well, Trinity Lane, Micklegate, York YO1 6LE.

Meetings alternate between manuscript evenings, which are focused on a sharing of creative work, and themed sessions, often led by a guest speaker. We welcome new members.

Newcomers and visitors to the group are admitted to all our meetings. We currently ask for a £2.50 meeting fee for guests and visitors.
